Day 1 : Delhi
Welcome aboard the Maharajas' Express.

This evening, assemble at Delhi Safdarjung station at around 2045 hours. Complete your Registration and Check-In formalities, as you enjoy the Live Instrumental Music sipping into your welcome drink.

Enjoy Dinner on board as the Maharajas' Express departs from Delhi at 2200 hours to Agra.

Overnight on the Maharajas' Express.

Day 2 : Agra – Fatehpur Sikri
Arrive into Agra – the Jewel of India.

Early this morning, disembark to visit the world famous Taj Mahal (one of the Seven Wonders of the World), built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan as the mausoleum for his favourite queen Mumtaz Mahal. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, this incomparable marvel is constructed entirely out of white marble and is an architectural masterpiece with beautiful inlay work and marble screens.

Later, enjoy Champagne breakfast at an exclusive venue.

Following breakfast, return to the train. On the way back, the discerning art lovers can witness Pietra Dura Marble Inlay work at display.

After a leisurely lunch onboard, proceed on a tour of the deserted Mughal city of Fatehpur Sikri. This red sandstone city was built by the great Mughal Emperor Akbar as his capital in the late 16th century. It is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Admire the fascinating sights, comprising of imposing gateways, Halls of Private and Public audience, beautifully sculptured palaces with unique water bodies, reflecting a perfect blend of Hindu and Muslim architectural styles. Complete your visit of Fatehpur Sikri by paying obeisance at the tomb of Sheikh Salim Chisti. Return to the comfort of Maharajas' Express for Dinner as you continue your journey to Jaipur.

Day 3 : Jaipur
Jaipur, the capital and the largest city of Rajasthan was built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, the ruler of Amber in the 18th century. It is renowned for its magnificent palaces, forts and temples, jewellery and blue pottery.

After early breakfast disembark to visit the Amber Fort. The Amber Fort, set in picturesque and rugged hills is a fascinating blend of Hindu and Mughal architecture. Constructed by Raja Man Singh I in 1592 and completed by Mirja Raja Jai Singh, the fort was made in red sand stone and white marble. The rugged forbidding exterior belies an inner paradise with a beautiful fusion of art and architecture. Amber is the classic and romantic fort-palace with a magnificent aura.

A short jeep ride takes you up to the fort where you will enjoy a tour of the royal apartments, with striking views of the gorge. Step back into the Mughal era as you enter the Chamber of Mirrors (Sheesh Mahal), and the Hall of Victory.


Should you wish not to visit the Amber Fort, you may choose to participate in one of the Optional Tours. Enjoy spa facilities at a five star hotel or proceed on a private shopping tour or enjoy Golfing at the Rambagh Golf Club or visit the Jantar Mantar.

Return to the train for lunch. En-route you'll have an opportunity to witness cutting and polishing of precious and semi-precious gems at a local center.

In the evening, visit the City Palace Museum followed by a unique and enthralling experience – an Exhibition Elephant Polo Match, Your arrival at the Elephant Polo venue will be accompanied by the royal military band and the beating of 'Nagadas' (huge Indian drums). You may choose to watch or participate in an exhibition game. After the match, enjoy Dinner at City Palace over sparkling wine.

Following dinner, return to the train.

Day 4 : Delhi
Breakfast will be served 0730 hours onwards on board as you reach Delhi. Disembark and bid farewell to the Maharajas' Express.
